There are so many descriptions for the word love associated with so many different scenarios, that the world has lost truth upon the actual meaning behind the word love. In this paper, I would like to share my own personal view pertaining to love and all that I believe God intended for it to be. I believe that love is the most abundant and powerful creation in which God allows all living creatures to share in, and I hope to offer you my understanding of why God created this marvellous word known as love.First, allow me to start at the root meaning of love. What do I think love is? In John 47-1, God tells us clearly that He is love, and He reveals that to us by the sending of His own Son into the world so that we might live through Him. 7Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love. God's love was revealed among us in this way God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. 10In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11Beloved, since God loved us so much, we also ought to love one another. 1No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us.
It was through the atoning sacrifice that God covered all our imperfections with His perfect love that we might live in relation with one another as God-founded in love. We are permitted to love because God loved us first. However, the last verse speaks of loving one another because God lives in us, and it is only through His Love that we love one another in perfection. His love is God for God is love. Therefore to better understand the true perfect meaning behind the word love, we must better understand who God is. In the Bible, God is described in thousands of ways, all which reveal new and different facets pertaining to God. He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last (Revelation 18). God is light (John 15). Through these two descriptions of God, I would like to share with you my own revelation of love and how it pertains to God's perfection. The Alpha and OmegaRevelation 188"I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."God is the beginning and the end, the first and the last. What is the beginning, and what is the end? Our minds could never fathom such a profound thought. It is like asking the question, "Where does the universe end?" Scientists have no answers for such questions as these. There is but only one word that describes these incomprehensible questions asked since the beginning of time- infinite immeasurable, countless, unlimited, never-ending. Infinite is the only way to describe the beginning and end of time. It is the only way to describe the creation of God, and I believe that it is the only way to truly describe God. Man has used many names and detailed descriptions to unveil the nature of God, but the truth is that to completely understand the nature of God, one would write for eternity for God is infinite in every way. He is never-ending because His nature is immeasurable. What is another scientific discovery known to be infinite? Sir Isaac Newton discovered light, when refracted through a prism, to be described as the essence of color. When a light shines through a diamond, the refraction appeared is that of a rainbow. One can see that light is actually the fundamental nature of color. A rainbow reveals the beginning and end of a color spectrum. However, is there really a beginning and end to color? Can there ever be a limit dealing with even one specific color? The answer is no. Color is infinite. Even though we can see the diversity between red, green, and blue, there is no end between each of them. The number of colors in a rainbow is countless, just as the number of facets pertaining to God is countless. In John 15 God is shown as light. Therefore, God is light and love. When we relate these two words with the unfathomable description of God, we discover that love is infinite. Love has no beginning or end. Love is countless and immeasurable. Love is without end. So what is it to love one another? John 155This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light and in him there is no darkness at all. 6If we say that we have fellowship with him while we are walking in darkness, we lie and do not do what is true; 7but if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.Love is simply the relationship of any two people founded in the endless depths of God's tri-fold being. It could be the relationship held between a brother and sister, a son and his father, a sheep and its shepherd, or a man and a woman. Love is abundant in the world today. There are so many different kinds of relationships all respecting to various shades of love. The Bible says that true love is that which is God-founded. However, there are people that claim to love one another who are not Christians. What about these people? Are they truly in love? I believe that God created love just as He created music. Both are His creation, and both are as real in the eyes of Christians and non-Christians alike. All of mankind has the free gift God gave unto the entire world, Jesus. However, it is only when we recognize the source of these creations do we understand that by relating all credit back to the Creator we clearly see the never-ending glory there is to be seen in each of these God-made creations. Music, art, color, and love are all perfect descriptions of God's never-ending glorious creation. I am forever amazed at the profoundness of God. As a Christian, I am so blessed to live in this abundant blessing God has bestowed upon me and the rest of His children. That is perhaps one of the greatest reasons I make it a point to only date another Christian who is equally yoked in her Christian walk. To enter into a relationship with such a person offers endless roads of love to be taken for the time spent of eternity. God's love is perfect like that. The Diamond in the RoughWhen light is emitted from a source it is eternal. If light is to be compared to as love then the birth of a new relationship is the source of illumination. It is only when a light is refracted through a prism do we see the spectrum of a rainbow appear, and it is only in the rainbow that we see the endless colors that God has created. I believe that relationships that are not God-based only see the brightness of the naked light, but when two Christians join in relationship, there is another element that brings them together- God. This is the difference between the two. One relationship only sees the initial beauty of the light of love. It is amazing at first; however with time it grows to be dimmer and less appealing. Man can only see as far as the simple light on his own. What man cannot see is all the color that exists within the light. In a Christian relationship, Jesus is the diamond in which the love experienced in the relationship is shown through. Having Jesus as the refraction point of any relationship permits physical visibility of the various and endless colors created by God as infinite. Nevertheless, there is still one essential ingredient for viewing the color spectrum of love, and that is the more polished the diamond is, the more brilliant the color is to be refracted from it. Just like any diamond, there is always an origin. Diamonds don't just appear as beautifully cut and polished stones that fall from heaven. They originate from deep within the earth, buried far beneath the hardened dirt-covered rock. Our lives are like this diamond in the rough before we ever met Jesus. There was only filthy sin that would harden our hearts and not allow us to see the beauty that was created within each of us. Our Christian walk is simply having God the Father by the work of His Holy Spirit crafting and polishing the refraction of Jesus' love in our lives. We were created to be children of God, and his will for each of our lives is to see Jesus radiate from our being. This brings a complete new standing on the phrase "equally yoked." To see that in a relationship both the man and the woman needs to have their own personal diamond polished in order to clearly see God's will refract from the relationship. It is not always easy to polish a diamond from its rough state. There are four major steps that need to take place before any diamond is able to refract color from an illuminated source of light. This is where God the Father, the master lapidary, through his Holy Spirit, shapes and develops our lives into all God created us to be. First, the diamond needs to go through the pressure that forms the diamond. This process involves intensive heat. It is where the diamond is put through the fire, shaping its core being. The second step taken is the faceting of the diamond. It is the cutting of the diamond. Each diamond has a specific shape and size. It is only through the faceting of the diamond that shape and size is given specifically. This is where God begins to cut off the compromising, ungodly areas of our lives. He is making us to be more Christ-like. The third process is the polishing of the diamond. This is what brings clarity. As spoken of before, the more polished the diamond is the more brilliant the color is to be refracted from it. We need to be finely, polished vessels to be used mightily for God. Finally, the light needs to be emitted through the diamond. To be equally yoked in a relationship is to also clearly see God's will for the relationship. Therefore, Christians need to keep their diamonds polished so that they do not lose focus of God's perfect will for any relationship. So long as Christians who are engaged into a relationship keep their eyes focused on Jesus, there will be that clear, infinite spectrum of love in their relationship, thus making love all it was created to be. I believe it to be miraculous when two Christians who have been shaped, cut, and polished come together in one relationship. Two rocks that originated from filthy sin now refracting one beautiful rainbow. There will still remain numerous tests and trials to overcome within the relationship, but it is only through those trials that the relationship grows even stronger and clearer. Every relationship endures trials, and those that work through the trials are the ones which can stand the intense fires. They are passing through the Refiner's fire, thus creating the most beautiful of relationships. That is why I also believe that love is the strongest force that could ever stand between two separate people. As human beings, we are created in three parts. We are spirit beings which have a soul and live in a body. Because of our eternal heritage, we are spiritual beings. Because of our emotional character, we have a soul, and because of our physical actions pertaining to our bodily senses, we live in a body. All three of these make up who we are. I believe that love is the strongest force between any two people because it takes role in all three parts of a human being. Love is a physical experience, for God has shown us that even through the simplest touch one can feel loved. To hold one's hand or kiss could show love in its physical state. Love is also quite emotional. Love draws numerous emotions out of someone- emotions of happiness, sadness, passion, and intimacy. As shown in God's word, love is primarily a spiritual act for God is love. Therefore, if there are two people who fall in love, they are actually brought together from every part of their beings. All who they are intertwine with each other, thus creating a force inseparable. This force known as love, when founded upon the love of God, is the most spectacular and marvelous creation God has ever created. It is made to be the complete strength in any relationship, and when unveiled in all its glory, love is infinite. Please note that this sample paper on The Infinity of love is for your review only.
