The lightHe just sits there driving. He doesn't move, he doesn't flinch and he doesn't say a word. And me? Well I don't do much more than that, I just sit there feeling drowsy and too weak to move. So I just sit there, semi-conscious staring out the window at nothing, hoping to see something I can concentrate on for a few seconds. The ominous landscape of the desert, so dry and hot yet so evil it chills my spine, would almost always put me to sleep any other day, but now, now I'm too scared to sleep and this is the only thing keeping me awake.I try to concentrate on all the little things, memorising everything to fine detail. The way the road goes and the way it is almost invisible to the human eye, the black dash with the scratch above the radio, the way the springs in the seat feel against me body, the shape of the roof, the steering wheel, the marks on the windows, the squashed bugs on the bonnet, everything.

The only one thing I can see that is weird to me is that everything is black, black like a sky with no moon or stars, and black is cold. The man who is driving is in all black, black suit, sunglasses, shoes, shirt, tie, hair, everything. The car too itself is black and the windows tinted so dark I can only just see out them. And all this that is black feels icy cold even in the heat of the scorching desert.I focus on the only thing I feel that is real and that's the sun. The sun, that's job only a few minutes ago was burning everything visible, is now setting and changing all the colours of the desert, changing all the colours of everything, everything apart from black. As I watch the land turn from red, to orange, to purple, to blue then to night, I can almost hear the sounds of the deserts relief, like as if someone has put out a fire on its back. But the car still stays black, only now its not icy cold like everything else, its burning, a burning black that is mentally hotter than the sun could ever be.I can see the dust fly behind us as we tear through the desert. Then it just stops, everything stops, the stars shooting, the wind blowing, the clouds flying, the car and the driver, everything just stops exactly where it is, everything apart from me.I look around and see stillness and its send a chill down my spine. Then he moves. The driver slowly turns his head to me, and stare's at me through is glasses.Although I cannot see his eyes I can feel that they are not there, like he has two never ending holes in his face.He slowly reaches down and slightly opens his jacket and all of a sudden I am blinded by the brightest light I have ever seen, although it would be impossible to stare at this light I can't stop trying. He reaches in and pulls it out, and slowly raises it and that's when I see it, I see the barrel of a gun.I freak out and try to open the door but there is a lock, a child lock, so I smash the window and open it from the out side.I jump out the car and get nowhere, I fall flat on my face, my jelly legs could not hold my body, I was still half drugged. He gets out the car and calmly turns to face me, I scramble to my feet and realise I have to do something. I try to run and run and run and I felt like I had been running a million years and a million miles but when I look back I haven't moved an inch.I trip over my own feet and end up facing the barrel again, I try to squirm backwards but still I cannot move.I keep trying soaking in my own sweat, I had been sweating so much I was bleeding through my pores, and the man keeps the gun on me, watching me squirm with the same facials he has had forever. It was like he got off over watching me fight and squirm for my life. He knows that he has the ability to take my life whenever he wishes. He takes off his sunglasses slowly and the same bright light appears from his eyes, not endless black holes I thought before, just bright light and then he fires. From the gun a little bright light shoots strait toward my face.I close my eyes and wait for the bullet to disintegrate my face. But I feel nothing, the bullet stops, millimetres away from my eyes and I just sit there staring at this white light then at the man and then back to the light. The bright shining bullet just sits there spinning around and around and I look just up one last time towards the man, and I see him smile just before everything explodes into bright white.
